Membership in the Russian Salon Dog Club of America, Inc. carries the responsibility of conducting oneself in a manner that promotes the preservation, welfare, and responsible advancement of the Russian Salon Dog. Members agree to uphold the following principles:

1. Representation of the Club

Members shall represent the Russian Salon Dog Club of America in a positive, respectful, and professional manner. Members are encouraged to educate the public and fellow enthusiasts about responsible dog ownership, ethical breeding practices, and the preservation of the Russian Salon Dog.

2. Responsible Dog Ownership

Members shall maintain high standards of care for all dogs under their ownership or control, including appropriate housing, nutrition, veterinary care, socialization, exercise, and humane treatment throughout the dog's lifetime.

Members recognize that making difficult end-of-life decisions, when recommended by a licensed veterinarian and in the best interest of the dog, is part of responsible dog ownership.

3. Ethical Breeding Practices

Members shall breed with the primary goal of preserving and improving the Russian Salon Dog through careful consideration of health, temperament, structure, genetic diversity, and adherence to the official breed standard.

Members shall accurately represent the health, pedigree, temperament, and quality of their dogs.

4. Honesty and Integrity

Members shall honor all written contracts, guarantees, and agreements.

Advertising shall be truthful and shall not contain misleading or deceptive statements. Health testing claims shall be supported by appropriate documentation or certification.

5. Sportsmanship

Members shall conduct themselves with courtesy, honesty, and professionalism at all Club activities and canine events.

Members shall treat exhibitors, judges, stewards, volunteers, event officials, and fellow participants with respect regardless of differences of opinion or competition results.

6. Compliance with Laws and Rules

Members shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws relating to dog ownership and breeding.

Members participating in events hosted by other canine organizations shall comply with the rules and regulations of those organizations.

7. Responsible Placement of Dogs

Members shall not knowingly sell, lease, transfer, consign, or otherwise place dogs through pet shops, commercial brokers, auctions, raffles, wholesalers, research laboratories, or any individual or organization known to engage in unethical breeding or animal care practices.

Members shall make every reasonable effort to ensure that dogs they produce are placed in responsible, permanent homes.

8. Conduct Unbecoming a Member

Members shall avoid conduct that brings discredit upon the Russian Salon Dog Club of America or is prejudicial to its purposes.

Violations of this Code of Ethics may be reviewed under the disciplinary procedures established in the Constitution and Bylaws.

9. Respect for the Club

Members shall respect the integrity of the Club, its confidential information, official records, membership information, intellectual property, and governance processes.

Members shall not knowingly misuse confidential Club information or represent themselves as speaking on behalf of the Club without proper authorization.
